India International Dance Congress 2018

India International Dance Congress (IIDC), India’s biggest dance festival is set to happen this year in July and we’re excited. If you’re not aware of what IIDC is, its the premiere dance festival of India which includes 4 days of Workshops, Social Dancing, Performances and Competitions.

IIDC boasts a big Square foot hall for championships and performances ,Along with a separate Sensual room for Bachata and Kizomba – IIDC has the best social dancing experience in the country!

International Artists 

Johnny Vaszquez (Italy/Mexico)  – Salsa

Born in Guadelajara Mexico, Johnny Vazquez has been dancing since the age of 14, Johnny has quite a few feathers in his hat including winning first place at several International Dance Competitions and is widely regarded as the best LA style Salsa Dancer.

Franklin Diaz (USA) – Salsa

Franklin Diaz was born in Dominican Republic and has been dancing since the age of 4. Well Versed in Salsa, Afrocuban, Ballet, Modern and Flamenco, Franklin  has shared the stage with popular artists such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puentes and Fania All Stars.

Oliver Pineda (Australia) – Salsa/Kizomba

Australia’s only 8 times World Salsa Champion, Oliver has won five of his World Salsa Titles with celebrity dance partner of 20 years & three times winner of “Dancing with the Stars” Luda Kroitor & continues to inspire by performing & winning championships till today

Sara Lopez (Spain) – Kizomba

Sara started dancing at the age of 5 and studied Ballet for 15 years. She was certified by The Royal Ballet of London and even obtaining the qualification of Honors. During the same period of time, she complemented her training with 9 years of Flamenco, 4 years of Contemporary and different courses of Jazz and Funk by national recognized teachers. She was part of the Young Africa Guzman Ballet for 4 years playing solo roles.

At age 17, she trained in Belly Dance for a year and at age 19 she was introduced to the Latin Dances, where she worked as a performer and gave workshops in Salsa on one, Bachata and Bachatango with different dance partners at national level for 3 years.

Albir Rojas(Spain) – Kizomba

Albir Rojas, dancer, choreographer, actor and instructor. At the age of 15 he discovered a passion for Hip-Hop in his native Panama, he has cultivated his love for dance, over the years training in hip-hop, funk, tap, ballet as well as Latin and ballroom dances. He is also an actor having worked in musicals’ such as The West Side Story, Grease and Fame.

Dates and Venue

IIDC 2018 is scheduled 5th – 8th July 2018 at Clark Exotica. Clark Exotica is located near the Airport and is a huge and spacious venue.

Clarks Exotica also has amazing accomodation options but is usually filled up quickly.

Shivas Gateway is an alternate official accomodation option available to people.

Housefinch Residency is an unofficial but popular accomodation option for those on a budget
